Everybody knows Merlin is the greatest magician in the kingdom—the king being the first to take advantage of his magic powers. At 50, Merlin is still charming and seductive, and now, with his work done and Arthur's education complete, he would like nothing more than to retire to the woods and live in peace. But with the arrival of the fairy Viviane, and young Lancelot, Merlin's plans are derailed. Caught up in a passionate romance with Viviane, Merlin finds he's slowly being drained of his powers, leaving the kingdom and Arthur open to threats. When Viviane is kidnapped, Merlin will have to set aside his dream of a quiet life and fire up his powers to save them all.
